Meet Donna, LMT
Donna's passion is helping people, even if in a small way. She joined our team here at Sweet Serenity Massage & Salt Therapy in 2018. Donna has a huge heart, and she really cares for each of her clients. She firmly believes that massage helps promote a person's well-being. Whether it is through pain relief, loosening a stiff muscle, or simply providing an escape from someone's stressful, busy life through soothing touch, her heart smiles in being able to help her clients.
Donna has been a licensed massage therapist since May 2015. She received her massage training at Irene’s Myomassology Institute, a renowned school in Southfield, MI. Donna is trained in Oncology Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Relaxation Massage, Prenatal Massage and Reiki as extras on top of the Therapeutic Massage that is my base. She is a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.
After being in the 'Corporate World' for many years, she felt an urge to do work that was more rewarding to her heart. As part of her Reiki training and practice, she was doing some simple massage and energy work, and it was these experiences of the touch and the pull of her heart that prompted her to leap into the world of massage.
Donna grew up in Fort Jennings, OH, a small farming community. She is the youngest of 8 children and is happily married to her husband, Tom. They have four children and recently moved to Northern Kentucky after living in Michigan for ten years. When she is not massaging, she loves doing crafts such as crocheting, knitting, cross-stitch, making cards... as well as cooking and reading.
Her experiences with massage and energy work have honed her skill of recognizing a client's needs. Her bodywork sessions are customized to these needs, whether it is a gentle or deep tissue massage, reiki, lymphatic drainage, or most commonly, a combination. During Donna's sessions together, she is committed to focusing on your needs, whether physical, emotional, spiritual, to promote your well-being, if even in a small way. She even may use essential oils, warm towels, hot stones during a massage. She has been told that she is good at making a therapeutic massage relaxing.
Therapeutic touch doesn't mean it is clinical or has to be harsh. Therapeutic massage is not only a way to help loosen our muscles; it can also be a relief from the stressful lives we lead. Massage can release neurotransmitters in our bodies that help reduce anxiety, improve sleep, promote well-being. Take some time away from your stressful life. You deserve it!
